Move your web application to cPanel with Installatron

If you are using one of the applications supported by Installatron, then you can automatically move your site to cPanel from another host, including other hosting accounts at ITEGY. If you aren't sure if your application is supported by Installatron, search for your application on their Apps page.

Note: There may be some reasons why your application is not supported on cPanel hosting, such as older or incompatible versions of applications. Make sure to check the applications section of cPanel to see if your app is supported.

Before you move

Before using Installatron to move your site, you will need a few pieces of information from the host where your site currently is.

• Your FTP or SFTP username and password from the old host.

  Note: If you have Classic hosting and you don't know your FTP username and password, see Reset my FTP username and password (Web & Classic Hosting).

• The file path to your website on the old host. If you are moving from Classic hosting, you may need to find your path. In most cases, if your site is simply the primary domain on your Classic hosting account, you can leave this part blank.
• The IP address for your old host.

  Note: To find your IP on Classic hosting, see Find my website's IP address.

Move your application

1. Log in to your ITEGY account.
2. Click Web Hosting.
3. Next to the cPanel account you want to use, click Manage.
4. Click cPanel Admin.
5. In your cPanel account, click Applications to open Installatron.
6. Click the icon for your application type (e.g. WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)
7. Next to Install this application, click the arrow, then click Import Existing Install.
8. In the From different account section, click Continue.
9. Fill out the Source section.

   Section	Information
   URL	The URL for your site as it is currently. This can be a domain (e.g. http://www.coolexample.com), a subdomain (e.g. http://subdomain.coolexample.com), or a domain and path (e.g. http://www.coolexample.com/wordpress).
   Protocol	FTP
   Port	21
   Path	The path to your site, from the FTP user's root directory

10. Fill out the Destination section.

    Section	Information
    Destination	Choose a domain or subdomain from your cPanel account from the drop-down menu. If you are using a subdomain, make sure to select the version without the www.
    Directory (Optional)	The specific directory and path you want for your website. If you plan to use a simple domain URL (www.coolexample.com), then leave this blank. If you want to use an additional path (www.coolexample.com/sitename), then enter that path now.
    Database Management	Make sure that Automatically create a new database for the installed application is selected.

    Note: If you are moving your site from Classic hosting, and you choose to install this to a secondary domain, the application domain will not change automatically when you change the primary domain later in the guide. You may need to clone your site to the primary domain after you're done moving the site.

11. Once you have confirmed that the information is correct, click Import to begin the migration.

Note: If you get an error message that the migration was unsuccessful, check your source host information and try again. Please note that if there are problems on the source host, such as timeouts or issues with FTP, the migration may fail.

Note: If you get an error regarding PHP modules, you may need to enable the PHP modules that are listed in the error message.

Once this is complete, you should see your site properly moved to the cPanel hosting, with the new domain and path.
